Troubleshooting: Member Login and Profile Update

INSTRUCTIONS FOR LOGGING IN AND UPDATING YOUR PROFILE

We’re sorry if you’re having trouble logging in or updating your profile on the TPA website!

Most problems with login and profile updates can be traced to your browser’s properties and settings. Please try the following solutions, and contact TPA using the form below if your problem is still not resolved.

Clear your browser’s cache.

For instructions, click here and locate the steps for your browser.

What is the cache, and why do I need to clear it?

In certain situations, a browser may mistakenly attempt to use “cached” or stored information, when it should request new information from the server. This may cause the browser to generate an error message. The solution is to clear this cached information from your browser and essentially force it to request new information from the server.

What happens when I clear my cache?

After you clear your cache, you may need to re-enter some usernames and passwords that were previously saved using a “remember me” type check box. Usernames and passwords do not change, but you may need to re-enter them.

Enable third-party cookies.

What are third-party cookies, and why do I need to enable them?

Cookies are used to store information. Without the use of cookies, our site can’t tell whether or not you should have access to the page you’re trying to see. It can’t tell if you have logged in, and if you aren’t, it can’t send you to the login page to do so. Login functionality, profile updates, and event registrations on our website are considered by your browser to be “third-party” features, and the cookies these features enable are seen as “third-party cookies.” If third-party cookies are disabled in your browser, pages on our site that require login can’t display the information you’re looking for, and the result is that you encounter an error.
