NCPA Conference on National Legislation & Government Affairs

Join Tennessee Independent Pharmacists in Congressional Visits May 8th as part of NCPA Legislative Meeting

May 7th and 8th: NCPA’s 2014 Annual Conference on National Legislation & Government Affairs
Location: Grand Hyatt, 1000 H St NW, Washington, DC

April 8th: Deadline for Special Room Block Rate

The 2014 Annual NCPA Conference on National Legislation and Government Affairs will be held on May 7-8, 2014, in Washington, DC at the Grand Hyatt Washington. TPA Representatives annually attend and participate in this very important meeting.

While in the past year, there has been much progress made for independent community pharmacies at the state level, primarily with audit and MAC legislation, the fact remains, there is still much to be done at the federal level.  Face to face meetings with members of Congress or their staff are the best way to promote these priorities.  That is why the Tennessee Pharmacists Association is encouraging all members to attend NCPA’s 2014 Annual Conference on National Legislation & Government Affairs [[http://ncpanet.org/index.php/events/2014-legislative-conference]].

We hope that you will join hundreds of your fellow pharmacists at NCPA’s Legislative Conference and take advantage of the opportunity to speak with members of Congress to encourage support for legislative initiatives that would open preferred networks in Medicare Part D; curb abusive PBM audits in Medicare plans; and recognize pharmacists as providers under Medicare. These are serious issues that will provide tremendous benefit to independent community pharmacies, but community pharmacy as a whole cannot succeed in implementing these proposals without the voices of independent pharmacists, so please join us in Washington May 7-8 and make your voice heard.

Click Here [[http://ncpanet.org/index.php/events/2014-legislative-conference]] to register today!  Please note that you only have until April 8th to take advantage of the reserved Hyatt room block!

Join the conversation before, during, and after the conference online using the hashtag #NCPALegConf, and connect with your fellow Tennessee pharmacists on Twitter – @TNPharmacists in your tweets and posts.

TPA will be setting up times to meet with members of the Tennessee Delegation soon.  If you are interested in joining TPA independent pharmacists in Congressional visits, please contact Gina at the TPA office at 615-256-3023 or gina@tnpharm.org no later than April 7, 2014.
