TPA Announces Dr. Marlin Blane’s Appointment to the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy

Marlin 'Marty' BlaneNashville, TN (March 25, 2022) – The Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA), the only professional association representing pharmacists in all practice areas across the state, today announced that member Marlin “Marty” Blane, PharmD, JD, has been appointed by Governor Bill Lee to serve on the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy.

Dr. Blane earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy with honors and later earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. In addition to being a licensed pharmacist, he was admitted to the practice of law in Tennessee by the Tennessee Supreme Court in 2000. He also serves as a clinical preceptor for students of Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy and Union University College of Pharmacy. He is now lead pharmacist and owner of the Dover Family Pharmacy in Dover, Tennessee.

Dr. Blane is also an active leader in the profession. He is a long-term member of the American Pharmacists Association and Tennessee Pharmacists Association and has served on TPA’s Legislative and Regulatory Policy Committee for many years. He is also a member of the National Community Pharmacists Association and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. Furthermore, he serves on the medical advisory committee for the Tennessee Bureau of Workers Compensation and holds memberships in the Tennessee Municipal Judges Conference and the Health Law Section for the Tennessee Bar Association.

Dr. Blane will serve as a pharmacist member of the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy for the next six years and help advance its mission to serve Tennesseans by providing a fair, flexible, and positive regulatory environment for pharmacy related industries.
